Article 28: Interpretation of the Bill of Rights

In this Part, unless the context otherwise requires: "Caymanian" means a person who possesses Caymanian status under the law in force in the Cayman Islands or who is entitled to be registered as such; "court" means any court of law in the Cayman Islands including the Grand Court, the Court of Appeal, and any subordinate court; "disciplined force" means a naval, military or air force, the police force or the prison service; "public official" means a person who exercises a public function, including a member of the Legislative Assembly, a member of the Cabinet, a judge or magistrate, or any other person exercising functions on behalf of government.
